    Talked to hayes today.........

Well, due to a line leak at the fitting on my new mag plus', I called Hayes to hopefully send me a new one. I talked to Kim who was more than helpful (and is sending me a new line), and I asked her about the El camino's. They are REPLACING the Mag Plus in the line up and won't be available till after the first of the year (except as OEM equip on some bikes). They are to be used for BOTH XC and downhill applications. Those will be a definate purchase when they're available.

    Did I read that right?

Did you just write that the Hayes El Camino's will not be available till '05? Yikes that 's a ways off considering the ads are starting to show up in the magazines on the racks today.

Then again, the Avid Juicy's were much anticipated and revealed in one form or another over a year, with rumors starting almost 2 years prior.

Wonder if AE Bike will have them "in stock" for a long time like they did with the then-yet-to-be-released Juicys?! I remember calling them and they would tell me, "Oh, we just sold our last two sets. More in a week." I'd call back (sucker me), and they'd repeat the line. Then I called Avid and was informed, "Uh, there's like one pair out there from the show...Yeah, we know about AE Bike's claims to having batches. They never/don't have them."

This was about 8 months before they even hit the market.
