    Stupid Single Digit 5 question

I'm putting some single digit 5s on a commuter project and a red plastic sheath was in the curved metal piece. It was not mentioned in the installation instructions. I'm guessing that I run the cable through it and secure it to the housing with a ferrule. Am I right? If not, what to I do with this? Thanks

As you've described it, I'd say that the curved metal piece is a noodle, which fits into the brake arm and allow the cable to run around a bend into the brake, and the plastic tube is to help the cable runs smoothly within it...

(not a great picture - just the first I found searching for "brake noodle")
