    Stripped disc hub screw hole

    So I guess the bicep curls have been working...I stripped one of the screw holes on my rear Mavic Crossmax XL. I now have only 5 holes. Has anybody had this happen and what did you do? Can I ride it like that? I assume tapping it won't work because that would just make the hole bigger. I am thinking of just going to the hardware store and getting a nut to put behind the hole. First post...thanks in advance.

    5 bolts will hold your rotor on fine. If you want, get a longer bolt and an M5 nut and do that up.

    It's not just strength that counts, you need dexterity as well. You're lucky it's the rear where you can get away with it. It's a crossmax, so the pawls will go fast taking the axle with it too if you don't maintain it well. So don't worry.

    As said, 5 bolts are fine. You can use a nut on the other side if you want. Or you can helicoil it.
