Stream crossings with hot disc brakes

I am new to disc brakes and am not sure how careful I need to be. I fell over in a stream crossing at the bottom of a long hill, and noticed steam coming off the rotors. Is there any risk of rotor warping if they are soaked in water while hot?

No, rotor won't get warp. It gets warp due to incorrect installation or damage.

Rotors CAN warp if they're VERY hot and the water is relatively cold but you would also need a fairly decent soak rather than a splash, so realistically speaking no it's not a problem but it can happen.
