Specialized Hardrock - Upgrade to Disc

I bought a '10 Specialized Hardrock from local store for around $400.
Great bike, ride it everyday on trails and urban areas.
With wet weather we have now, I really wanted disc brakes so I bought a pair of BB7s.

Then realize the bad news, the wheels do not have the rotor mount, so now I either buy a wheel hub or new wheel-set.

Did I really screw myself this time? should have went with Hardrock Disc from the begining? Do I return the bb7s and call it a day? I feel so dumb..

Moreover, make sure your frame and fork have the mounts as well, my wife's Myka has rear mounts but the fork (suntour) does not. However, the Specialized write up states that the bike is upgradable to disc. But I would need new rims and a new fork.

It does have those. Everywhere I look, it's going be a total 300-400 upgrade. That's too flipping expensive... I'm going to have to return the brakes.
