    SO1E Bleeding issue

I have been trying to bleed the rear Hayes So1e brake. I watched the video floating around the internet and followed it to a T (lever straight up and at the highest point). I have a brake but it is soft. I made my own bleed kit with a similar bottle and fish tank hose. The only thing I am missing is the adatper for the lever. I just let the fluid run out of the lever and can see the air coming out. I did the procedure 3 times until I could see no more air and have very little brake.

My question is - Is the adapter for the lever that important to help stop air from getting back in or do I need to just run more of fluid through the system until it gets hard? I used between 4-6 ounces total for the 3 times I bled the brake.

I appreciate any heads up someone can provide!!

still have air in the system or its leaky. if you have the old mag style lever you can shove some tubing in the bleed hole.
