Six-bolt Rotor attachment on Hub... Plastic? Is this normal?

The six-bolt rotor attachment fitting on my wheel hub is plastic!? Is this normal? I was thinking it would be metal...

    Attachment fitting? Got a picture?

Usually the screws go right into the hub, unless there is a spacer for the hub for mounting a rotor.

Don't have the bike here right now. It's a commuter I leave at the train station. Will snap some pics tomorrow morning.

So I pulled the wheel off this morning to snap a photo. I think it might actually be metal after all...

It looks like it's one continuous piece from the hub. Although it's annodized black and looks like plastic...
