Shortening my hydro brake lines, should I bleed?

    Hi all,
I am installing some Marta FR's on my bike and both front and rear lines are way too long. I've already shortened the rear as per the instructions (went smoothly), but haven't done the front yet.

I was expecting the rear brake to feel mushy at the lever after shortening the line, but it feels the same as the uncut front brake. Do I need to worry about bleeding it? I didn't notice any loss of fluid when I did this, but maybe I missed something. Just want to make sure I have these set up right, don't want any surprises on the trail.

I'm new to hydro maintenance, so any advice is appreciated. I had an old set of Deores, but never had to shorten lines or bleed them...

If they feel firm I would not bleed. I have also shortened a couple sets of XT's and have never had to bleed.
