I have both latest and most current models on my hardtails. The MT2's have been awesome. The XTR brakes I have are just about as easy to bleed and maintain, I would say the performance is equal ... If you want silver accents, the XT's, otherwise the Magura's look the business.

The 2014 model year MT2 weighs 345 gr including rotor, rotor bolts and caliper bolts.
That is about the same as XTR when you include rotor and hardware.

XTR (non-servo wave OR free stroke) looks like 316 gr. excluding hardware for the rotor and caliper. Ti hardware including 6 rotor bolts and 2 caliper bolts = 16 gr. approx.)
Also it doesn't state whether there is a consideration for the fluid, compression fitting and line hardware. (another few gr.)
Magura weight claim includes everything including hardware, and ready to use.
BTW, the MT8 is 299gr including everything. no Ti hardware used.

Thanks for the replies. Was very helpful. If i want new brakes ill go for Hope.

The MT2s are actually working better and better the more i ride, i almost just bought the bike so i guess the brakes just had to be used a bit. The noise and vibration is alot better now.
