Upset Shimano XT M785 piston problem

So i was cutting my rear hose down with Shimano's guild If you google 'shimano hose trim line' its the first to come up. but any way...

During step 2 i think i let the pistons come the whole way out of the callipers, they dint fall or any think like that but....
So i finished the rest of the steps and during step 7 i noticed that the piston was very hard to push in but i got them both in with a little bit of effort. so i put in the spacer and squeezed the leaver and nothing happened... there was no breaking force at all and the lever went the hole way to the handle bar.

so how do i fix this, is all i have to do is bleed the system and will my brand new break be working or have i f####d this up big time and broken something???

    thanks for any help.

Sounds like air in the line. Try a bleed before you get to upset. If the piston did not fall out you should be ok.
