    Shimano Pads

I just got XTR disc brakes and the brake pads say "Ti resin" on them. I was under the impression that XT and XTR brakes use the same sintered compound but XTRs use a Titanium backing plate. So are XT and XTR brake pads sintered or organic?

    two materials

shimano makes two pad materials for thier brakes. Resin, a little more grappy, and metallic, a little more durable. The ti backkng plate is just the on XTR pads, however any shimano replacements will work. I beleve when you buy XTR calipers "aftermarket" they come with both sets of pads.
