    Shimano M07Ti Titanium XTR pads

Does anybody know what is the point of these pads compared to the A01S pads? They are both resin, but the XTR ones have a Ti backing plate. Is it supposed to purposely put heat into the caliper?

I think it's just to save a bit of weight. I think about 10 grams.

    Lighter.

Better insulates brake fluid from heat buildup in the pad. I've seen this trick used in race cars as the Titanium doesn't conduct heat as fast as steel.
