    shimano levers and hayes brakes??

    I want to buy a pair of deore xt brake and shifter combo. The one wheres its two in one. I have hydraulic Hayes sole brakes. The levers are meant for hydraulic use but i don't know if the Hayes hose with fit into the shimano. Will it?

    They use different fluid types that are incompatible.

    There are several online retailers selling the LX calipers for 25 bucks a piece. That's a great deal, and a big step up over the So1e.

    If you're interested, I have a set of new LX dual control levers that I can let go for dirt cheap (I do mean DIRT cheap).

    I'm pretty sure shimano stuff is designed to be used with 2 piston calipers and mineral oil. The hayes sole use a single piston and DOT fluid.

    I'm unsure if the fittings are the same.
    When under pressure, your level of performance will sink to your level of preparation.
