    Shimano lever stiction?

Hello all, figured I would see if anyone else is having this problem...got new 2013 Shimano XT brakesets, but the levers are not a smooth pull...seems to be a little hump to get over at the very beginning of the stroke, similar to stiction with air forks...anyone else had this problem and/or fixed it? Both have been bled, and feel solid otherwise.

I think it's the servo wave levers that you're feeling. They have a different pull profile that gives a lot of power in a short stroke at the beginning followed by a more linear profile pull at the end. Hope this helps.

    Yes. It's not a bug. It's a feature.

When I first installed my XT brakes, they would make an audible snap when I pulled the lever back and the pads jumped to the rotor. The sound seems to have gone away after some use, but the feel is still there. They go from disengaged to on-the-rotor very quickly at the beginning of the pull.

no problem, it takes a bit of getting used to (at least it did for me) as it removes a bit of the modulation by quickening the stroke.
