hi guys i need your help i'm in the middle of getting xtr disc brakes fitted to my front wheel and i will obviousley be getting the shimano pads but i've heard from other guys on these boards say that fibrax and kool stop replacement disc pads are better.......... has naybody tried these alternatives?
I tried the Fibrax pads on my XTR's and thought for sure I had bubbles in my lines. My brakes faded halfway down some long downhills that I've never had problems on. At the bottom my calipers were literally smoking. And no, the pad's weren't contaminated. I finally got some new XTR pads and immediately the brake-fade and smoke dissapeared.
