    Shimano Disc Rotor Fixing Plate???

I'm installing new Shimano 160 mm rotors (SM RT-75) on a new set of wheels.

The tech docs call for the installation of the "Disc Rotor Fixing Plate" between the bolts and the rotor. I've never seen these on a set of rotors, and aren't on currently installed on my old wheels.

Do you guys normally use these or not?

    Thanks!

They're thin half moon shaped lock tabs that sit under 2 rotor bolts. You bend the edges up to lock the bolts in place. It's simply additional security (like the locking wire Shimano provides for the caliper bolts). Other brakes don't use them on their rotors and you don't hear stories of the rotors coming loose.
