    Shimano DA cables for MTN

Has anyone used the Dura Ace cables (brake and shifter) on their XT or XTR systems? Any noticeable difference??

I have a chance to get both a new set of DA cables and thought would they work well on my Scott MTN (brakes are Avid BB7's)

Shift cables are shift cables, but brake cables have different ends for road and mountain. If you are talking about the pre-packaged sets the shift set for road bikes doesn't have enough housing for a MTB unless it's got downtube cable routing, which is getting rare unfortunately.

I really like those DA/XTR cable sets, they give a drivetrain that last bit of refinement that can make all the difference in the world.

Not sure about shifter cables (I ride SS), but for the BB7s you can get a lot better power if you run full length, compressionless cable housings. Something like the Jagwire Ripcords. Just my two cents.
