    shimano barb, is bigger better

Okay just noticed today when shortening hydro lines on my xtr that the barbs I have been using have a smaller ID hole then the original. At least it looks that way at the entry point. Didn't seem to affect anything but you would think the volume would be greatly reduced and you would feel something. And at a glance the stock barb looked stainless vs brass. Probably just me losing my mind...Take care

There are two styles of the barb, the new one for the high pressure lines (2012 brakes) uses the larger hole.
    Whats this line for?

So by using the smaller one on accident, I should be losing performance somewhere on my brakes. Since they obviously design it around the bigger barb. Thanks for your help again.

I don't think it'll matter much. Brakes works on fluid pressure and not volume flow. Granted there is a point when you'll notice the size difference, but not in this case.
