Shimano 2004 XTR - Shortening Hose Length

Can anyone tell me what part numbers I need to shorten the hoses on the M965 XTR Disc Brakes. I live in the UK and can only see olives and inserts for Deores on web-sites ... or can I shorten without buying parts (if so how?) ....or do I need to buy new hoses that you cut to length (which are available on Chain Reaction's website at 19.99! http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/v...s&ModelID=4425 )?

As far as i know the part should be the same as the deore one, the olive and insert is what you'll need.

You'll need the olive for sure as they tend to press completely to the hose. you may be able to get the insert out but they're both fairly cheap so i'd just both.

That link you provided is the wrong picture (could be the right part thoguh). The new xtr's/xt's use the 0 degree end (not that 90 degree) at the brake lever end.

... and if we just ... Olive and Connecting insert are the same!

    Hi!

I have checked the Expanded view of the Deore 525, 556 , 2004 Xts and XTR and they all use the same Olive and Connecting insert.
    Deore 525
    Deore 555
    2004 XTs
    and XTR

I have the same problem. I just bought new XTs, and they came prebuilt, but the lines are too long, I just realized that the rear brake already came with an extra Olive and Connecting insert, but I need to buy the bleeding kit and another Olive and Connecting insert.

I hope this helps you too.

    Regards,
    Cris
