    Same levers for disc brakes?

Haven't been able to find this searching the forums. I have a Specialized FSR XC Rim and I want to put mechanical disc brakes on it. Currently it has Avid FR-5 brake levers with linear pull brakes--can I use the same levers or do I have to get some that are disc brake specific? Thanks in advance for any insight!

I love Avid levers and bb7 but FR-5 are really cheap made. I recommend to spend $25-30 for Speed Dial 7 Levers.

I think they have no return spring?
    Thanks

Yes. The Paul v-brake levers will be fine.

There's a return spring in the caliper.

I am new to disc brakes. Can I use XTR 952 V brake levers with mechanical disc brakes?

    Thanks.

Yah, almost any V-brake lever can be used with mech discs. Ideally, the lever will have a return spring in it to assist the return spring in the caliper.
