Are RX worth the $50 over XT?

A pair of XT are going for $270 on close out right now. I could also get Formula RX with Magura Marta SL rotors from Universal Cycles for $320.

Is the performance of the RX worth the extra $50? My intended use is a trail bike that does the occasional 5-10 mile shuttle. I am 200 pounds.

Stick with the XTs. I've seen them recently for right at or under $200. Look around...

I was mistaken the RX are $282 with rotors after discount.

Any hints on where you saw the XT that cheap? I have seen SLX for that price which are basically the XTs with a heavier caliper.

I've have both and they are both great brakes, I prefer the RX but performance wise they are about the same. For me personally though with no reasoning behind it I would pay the extra cash for the Rx's again.
    And I love beer!!

I have not ran the xt's yet but recently put a set of rx's on my Nomad and have been really impressed - Ended up buying there kit with 180mm front/160rear rotor. I am thinking about ordering another set for my 29er.

I got the new XT within the first few months of release for $200 shipped. I'm sure if you dig around Ebay and Classifieds you could find new take offs for less $200 and at worst around $200.

I ended up going with the RX and Magura Storm SL 180mm rotors for $280 shipped. I looked again and couldn't find the XT for under $260, my new frame gets here Monday so I'm in a rush to get the last few parts.

What discount do you speak of? I am about to pull the trigger on some RXs as well so any help is appreciated.

Now if I could only find somewhere with the FCS and instant reach adjustment upgrades for them I will be in business!

At Universal Cycles, "vip15" for 15% off orders over 100.
Forumla RX brakes and Magura Storm SL rotors
    142+142+27+27= $338 * 85% = $287 with free shipping and no tax.

I think that's cheaper than eBay and you have a real store to deal with.
