Replacement Rotors - what's the difference?

I am shopping around for a replacement rotor for one that got bent. Is there any real difference among the diffrenet brand rotors, or specific after market ones like Aztec? I need a 6 bolt 160mm rotor, but beyond that is one rotor as good as another?

In cycling you get what you pay for. Cheaper cost usually means cheaper materials.

Try to stick whit your manufacturer's products or with recognized brands.

Check out Galfer, Avid and Hayes. Hayes specially makes quality cheap rotors.

I had a 180mm Aztec that was prone to warping. Much more so than the 180mm Magura I replaced it with.

...which brings me to my next topic: I have 2 New 160mm XT M756 (NON-centerlock) rotors that I'm selling for cheap. Email me if interested: mtbrpunk AT skiingismylife COM

    Wavy Rotors

Anyone have a source for wavy rotors. Need 160mm for Avid Mech's.

I'll bump the galfer wavy rotor. Has been put through some punishment with no warping.

I am pretty sure speedgoat carries them.

You should first read some opinions about wavy rotors around the forum. There had been some complain of weird noises and pulsing from Magura (Galfer) and Avids. Check out and make your own opinion.

Avid has been known to be replacing wavys with round "clean sweep" ones.

    Rotors

I have a set of cheap after market rotors that I use on my heavy duty wheelset with Avid mechs. They work just as well as the expensive avid rotors but were cheap and can be had at MEC in Canada. I have been riding discs for 41/2 years and weigh 220, so if they work for me they'll work for you.

    Pads are also cheap.

Bear in mind that these prices are in Canadian dollars.
I got some bad ideas in my head.
