I'm wondering if it's an OK idea to reuse someone's old Shimano brake hose.
I just replaced my 100mm fork with a 140mm one and now my front brake hose is just barely long enough to make it in a straight line from lever to caliper. I'd like to replace it with longer hose so it can go through the fork's hose guide and on the inside of the fork leg, but my LBS is charging $40 for a hose, so I thought maybe I could find someone willing to sell/donate old hose (perhaps a rear hose) to use. I already have oil and a barb/olive. Is this a decent idea? I wouldn't reuse housing but hose seems like it probably doesn't degrade in performance with use like housing does.
