Rear hydro brake set for max $150 ?

My brother want to give his XC bike a life-time upgrade. He's seeking a rear hydro brake set. He has a budget of $150 for the whole thing including rotor and adaptor. He'd like to run 140mm rotor and having the lightest setup possible into his budget. He's not heavy and he don't need DH power. V's are already powerful enough, just don't perform well when wet and dirty. He might buy the super light Ashima rotor too if that matter.

Open to suggestions and experiences. Can buy online and ship CAD/US. I'll be installing them.

    Thanks,

    David

Preferably. He's not too much mechanic oriented, but he don't want to buy someone else problems too. Like new or take-off would be ok, but those would be more of a local on place purchase. Let just say he don't want to mess with his brakes

    Thanks.

blueskycycling.com has the Shimano XT M785 (brake, adapters, rotor) for $149.98. The SLXs are $125.

Those are with a 160mm rotor, though.

That's some good options. I've seen an 140mm rear adaptor for the 74mm shimano caliper for $15 on the 'bay, but seems pricey for what it is.

Is the only difference between XT and SLX into the durability of the product, beside the weight saving ?

    Thanks
