    rear disc brake conversion?

    Hi everyone,
I'm new to the cycling world and I picked up a mtb a few months ago. It has disc brakes on the front, and v-brakes in the rear. My question is.. How do i convert the rear to disc's? Other than buying a rotor and caliper.?.? It has the tabs for the caliper on the swingarm already. Do i just need a new freewheel? It has shimano rear cassette and drivetrain components. Also where would i find a good source for info about bicycle mechanics? I like to work on my own stuff (Auto-Technician). Any help would be appreciated.
