Realignment of BB7 with cable change?

Looking to put better cables and housing on my front BB7 brake (probably XTR). Will I need to realign the caliper with a cable and housing change? Seems like perhaps not but...I really don't know.

No. The caliper will stay put with a cable/housing change.

XTR cables and housing are overpriced. The generic stuff works just as well. Just make sure the ends are cut nice and straight. Open it up with an awl. I like to use lube on the cable. Some people use teflon coated cables.

But no, the caliper will not need to be realigned.

Thats interesting to know. I have heard from several riders (mostly online) that they thought the XTR cable provided better response and power to the caliper. Other opinions? Perhaps the more money you lay out there, the more your opinion changes.

use jagwire ripcord.. $23 a set (F&R cable, F&R housing, ferules, end caps), nearly compressionless, kevlar re-inforced, and comes in pretty colors
made a night-and-day difference on my bb7 over the generic stuff
