Question about brake\shifter combos. Specificly the Shimano XTR ST\BR-M975.

Long story short I'm still a noob and I could need some advice...
I'm looking to replace the brakes and shifters on my Cdale F6 and saw the Shimano XTR ST\BR-M975 which offers both in one neat package.

    Are these any good? Pro\Cons?

The biggest/only con that I can think of is that you're tied to a single brake/shift system - if you want to switch to a different shift system or brake system, you have to change both. On the pro side, it's an all-in-one system that works with damn near any Shimano front or rear derailleur. It's optimized for Rapid-Rise rear, but can be used with standard derailleurs. I have the XT version [ST/BR-M775], and I'm extremely pleased with the performance. The braking is so easy to modulate, but still has plenty of power. Brake bleeds are a snap - no goofy syringes to deal with.
