    Question about the BB7's...

    Good day,

I've been searching this forum among others and have done enough research that now I'm kinda confused, so I'm hoping I can get a little "guidance"... I currently have a 2012 Giant Talon 2 with the stock DB's (Tektro Aquila) and I'm looking to upgrade the front brakes first.

I've decided to go with the Avid BB7's and was wondering if going from the 160 to the 180 (I'm about 230lbs) be worth it or will the 160's work just fine? I have the Manitou Tower Expert fork, would the 180's fit?

    Thanks!

At #210, using BB-7's - I notice the difference in both stopping power, and on the rigid SS - fork shudder.
Vibration is not an issue on a Reba. Oh & yeah, replace the cable/housing with teflon Jagwire - night & day!
The best is the one you want to ride most often..

I would definitely go with 180. It will make a difference. I would also go with something like Jagwire Ripcord cable/housing.
15mm is a second-best solution to a problem that was already solved.

Yes, 180's all the way for the front. When you get to the back, you can keep a 160 there. On the back it's even more crucial to use good cables.
