Promax Orange Mech vs Tektro Draco SL Hydraulic (noob! HELP!)

I'm looking at picking up a new entry level bike.
Among the considerations is Cannondale SL4 vs the SL3.

I've read some bad things about the Tektro Draco hydraulic system. However, I wonder if this is from people expecting too much out of an entry level hydraulic system? I've got one friend that absolutely loves hydraulic brakes, swears by them. I've got another that has mechanical disc, hydraulic disc and a bike with the good ol' V brake and he prefers the V brake to all of them.

Any thoughts regarding these two systems would be greatly appreciated as well as any additional thoughts or reading material on braking systems.

If they are good friends, ask them to try their bikes and tell by yourself which is better.
(Probably your friends don't have the brakes you are talking about, but you will get an idea of different systems).

No idea about promax, but my Draco has given me almost 5 months of jaw dropping stopping. Never ever using rim brakes again for any riding that's not sunny country pavement cruising. Ever.
