Problems Fitting Brake Adapter 160 to 203

I've got a Commencal Supreme Mini DH with IS rear disc mounts.

I've fitted 203mm rear rotors and have an old set of Hope DH4 callipers. These would normally accept 160 rotors if directly bolted to the frame mounts.

I bought Hope HBIS40 adapters, but these fouled the frame IS mounts and would have needed too much material removing to have fitted.

I've therefore bought a Shimano 203 adapter which fits the frame's IS mount perfectly, but now holds the calliper too high and therefore the pads are about 1-2mm above the edge of the rotor.

Has anyone else had similar issues using adapters please? and more importantly, how did you get around this?

    Thanks

    John

The IS mounts fowl on the Hope curves that surround the lower fixing holes, whereas the Shimano bracket fits due to have loads more clearance.

I've tried to file down the Hope item, but there isn't enough material before I'd weaken it too much.
