Upset Please help, how do I get my Shimano xt disc brakes (756) to stop howling??!!

I have tried everything, I've aligned, re-aligned,sanded the pads, sanded the rotors and they still howl.
    Any help out there?

    Thanks, -Tree

Perhaps try swapping pads (front to rear) or getting some new pads with a different compound to what you have now.

    Good Luck

I had the same problem with mine (older style from 2 years ago) and no matter what i did or the lbs did, nothing would fix it. i ended up selling them and going to avid mech. sad because they worked great--just way to loud!

    Good Luck

Some people use some copper compound between the brake pads and pistons which is supposed to dampen vibrations which is what noise is. Had you tried swap pad compound?? Going from Semimetallic to Sintered or the another way around may be the solution.
