    Playing With The Old Banjo?

the rear cable of my 2004 xt M765 hdro disc brakes are quite long.i would like to cut it short but olive and connector insert are not (yet?) availlable here in manila, philippines.instead, can i just loosen the banjo bolt on the caliper end then twist the banjo a bit upward forming a loop to pull the cable?is this possible?

    Yes,

But be very carefull since you do not want to damage the 2 o rings under the Banjo.

do i have to bleed it?

perhaps, i should loosen the banjo bolt just a bit to turn it, right?

Compatability question from the new guy...

I have a question, since I'm not sure what the banjo, etc. are. Are 2004 XTR calipers BR-M965 compatible with new 2005 XT levers BR-M756? I'm about to buy my first pair of hydros, but I want to keep my SRAM X9 trigger shifters. Will this brake caliper/lever setup work? From everything I've read, it looks good to me. Thanks!
