Pistons stuck on Avid Elixir 5

I have Avid Elixer 5 Hydraulic brakes.. I went to swap out my rotor and accidentally pulled my brake lever, so much so that my brake pads are now stuck together. I took the pads out and tried pushing the pistons in, but every time i pushed one in, the other would pop out more. Does this mean there's air in my line?? Is there any way to fix this without bleeding the lines?

No air in the line. You need to work them both at the same time. Take 2 small screwdrivers or butter knives and push against both pistons together.
