    organic/semi metallicmixed pad

Been riding xt m775 disc brakes with resin pads. Recently tried organic/semi metallic mix pads. Stoping distance and feel are fine but brake squeal is off the charts. Also discoloration on XT 160mm rotor. Ride mainly cross country with moderate downhill. Are these normal symptoms? Any specific break in procedure? Thanks for any input!

Break them in the same as any other pad. They will be louder than organic pads, but shouldn't necessarily squeal. I'd try hitting the rotors with some sandpaper to get the resin material off.
Alcohol may lead nowhere, but it sure is the scenic route!
