Optimized Wheel to Disc Rotor ratio

With the addition of 27.5 or 650b, pick your poison, wheel size to the over inflated gut that is the current mountain bike industry and all the talk about optimized wheel size for riding style. It got me wondering if there is an optimized brake rotor size based on the size of wheel? And if not could there be? In other words is there an optimal ratio of wheel size to rotor size that gives the best performance.

really depends on your riding style and your weight. The smallest rotor that will stop you is the "best" one.
