i current ride is a 2012 specialized enduro comp with the elixir 7 brakes 200mm up front, 180mm in the back. i am weighing in at about 210lbs and thinking about putting a 203mm shimano icetech rotor in the back with some EBC pads. right now the rear brake heats up super quick and squeals like crazy with the stock semi metalic pads.
i am hoping the with running the bigger/icetech rotor it will help keep them cool and have more stopping power. i am just not sure which EBC pads to try... green, red, or gold....
i am in so cal so i dont end up riding in wet conditions much, but would the gold still give me a good everyday feel as well as long life as opposed to the organic green or red pads?
maybe gold up front green out back?
any thoughts? experience? suggestions?
