New forks, IS mount look sdifferent to old forks!?

Hi, finally replaced my Marzocchi Z5 bombers from 2001 with some RS Team Rebas. Sarted fitting my Avid Juicy 7 (2005) caliper an noticed that there appears to be a difference in the IS mount between the two forks.

With the new RS fork, both mounting holes appear to be the same distance from the fork body. With the old fork, the upper mounting hole is further away from the fork body than the lower mounting hole. It looks like an IS mount for the rear of the frame stuck on the fork.

This will change the position of the caliper relative to the rotor.

Does it matter? Why the difference? What's going on?

    Thanks.

Both meet the IS spec. Just the way the companies chose to do it.

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common
