is it necessary to have a washer between lockring and disc?

I just bought a pair of Shimano SM-RT53 160mm Centerlock Rotors & Lockrings from rockymountaincyclery on eBay.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I don't think the washers are included because they are not mentioned in the listing, as well as in the pictures. Is it really necessary to have a washer between the lockring and disc? Or, can I get by without having one?

    Thanks in advance.

New they should some with the washer. But those look used as the brake track is worn. Unless they a new take offs.

You can go without the washer.
