    mixing levers and calipers

I have a set of saint dc levers and was wondering if I can run some hayes calipers. I know it's not the best setup but I just need to know if will work or not. Thanx to anyone that can help!

you mean...besides the fact that Shimano brakes use mineral oil and Hayes uses Dot fluid...which are not compatible with each other in the slightest bit, thus killing this argument...

Supposedly there is a guy out there that has done it. But I doubt it would work for very long, or very long. The most obvious variable is what type of brake fluid it uses. Seals are made specifically for the type of fluid that is supposed to be used in the system. Using another fluid could cause the seals to dissolve or swell up. Availability of fittings is another problem, though easily resolved. And the diameter of the master cylinder is also important, how much does each system push?
