    Mix and Match Shimano brakes?

I'm sure this has been asked a zillion times, but a quick search didn't give me any definite answers.

I bought some of those LX dual control hydraulic brake/shifter levers on Jenson blowout for $50. My original plan was to get some LX calipers to go with them once I sold off some old gear. Then I came across a smoking deal on some slightly used M965 XTR calipers. I mentioned this to a bud, and he said all Shimano is mix and match with the correct hose ends, except for XTR and the new Saint, but I'm not confident he is correct.

What is the final word on this? Will this work with the correct ends?

Yep, they'll be fine. You just need to get the hose fittings right, and you'll be set.

I need those smaller 90 degree hose ends. Trip to the LBS!
