Marta SL rotors - Drilled or solid?

Looking to upgrade my front rotor to 180 from the stock 160. My 2008 brakes came with the SL wave rotor. I noticed that in 2009 a new SL Wave drilled rotor is available.

Any thoughts on which would work better for me? I ride XC and AM, no true downhills and I'm 170lbs.

I just read somewhere the wave rotors are prone to the ABS effect but if you do get wave, that should clean your pads fine. You wouldn't need them to be drilled. Of course It wouldn't hurt either, so it depends on what look you (or the ladies) like really.

since you are using the 2008 martas that abs issue is way less of an issue with the marta rotors. They use the smaller 5.1 or 5.2 series pads.

The SL drilled are heavier, but give you better stopping and cooling on those long downhill runs.

I think you'll be fine at your weight and riding with the marta rotors at 180.

Pricepoint has great deals on Magura rotors. Like $17 for the SL drilled and 22 for the marta rotor.
Lead by my Lefty............... right down the trail, no brakes.
