MT2s are on sale at a number of different places. Latest reviews seem extremely positive, especially given the price.

Personally, I was looking at the MT2 but will be opting for the slightly more expensive (though also on sale right now) MT4 so that I'll get the bite-adjustment (BAT).

I know nothing of the Maguras but the m775 brakes are kind of a pain to bleed.

You'd be better off getting the slx m666 brakes which seem to run about the same price as the m775.

Shimano is an excellent component and I like the comparison but Magura MT2 is excellent, XC or DH-able, cool looking sexy masters with still a "radial" master design which is best design for feel and modulation. Uses the same pads as all other MT and never needs bleeding.
Why did Shimano change back to an Avid-like non-radial MC? Baffles me.

    Thanks for the consideration.
