    Magura Louise Pads

I need to replace the pads on my Magura Louise soon. Based on the pictures in the manuals on Magura’s site, my brakes are 2002 or 2003 model year. The manual also makes replacement look easy.

I could get pads from Magura USA. Do they have good service?

Jenson sells the OEM pads at for a little less.

BeyondBikes has EBCs for half the price. I assume you get two pads and a cotter pin when you order.

    Out of the Running:

Jenson also sells EBC pads, but there's some confusion about which model to order. The ones listed for Louise look like they are for 2001 or earlier Louise. Maybe the ones listed as Julie are compatible.

Nashbar has Kool Stop pads, but worse issues with matching than Jenson since you can match the order to a picture.

I've used both EBC and OEM, and I like the OEM more.

Been riding Louise brakes since '02.

    Just my 2c.

    Swapping is in fact easy.

EBC pads do *not* include the cotter pin.

Sounds like OEM pads are worth the extra $12. What do you like better about the OEM?

Do you go with the Endurance OEMs or the Performance OEM? I'm leaning towards Endurance, cause I like the idea of less frequent pad replacement.

I have tried the Koolstops for Louise and the EBCs for Martas and I prefer the original Magura pad compounds by a good margin. Unless you were unhappy with the stock pads for some reason, I would stick with them. We have a lot of sets of Louise FR brakes and I do experiment with other compounds sometimes, but I am invariably disappointed and go back to the 3.2 Endurance compound pads Magura makes.

    Thanks for the replies.

I just ordered the Magura Endurance pads from Jenson USA.
