    Magura Louise FR year ?

    Hi, I just bought these for my bike :



    Does anyone know more about these ?
    Year ?
    Compatibility with current Louise parts ?

    Those are quite old. I think they are pre-2003. Magura themselves may still have some parts around, but the brakes are pretty outdated. Some stuff is the same on the new brakes like the hose, and pads should be available. Whoever cut the hose made a serious mistake because you cannot alter the crimped end at the caliper while replacing the end at the lever is easy.

    Does it mean that I can change the hose or not ?
    I don't understand what the "crimped end" is...
    Am I stuck with non working brakes or will I be able to use these if I replace the hose ?

    What he means is, if the person who removed the brake from the bike had cut the hose at the lever instead of the caliper, it would have been a simple job to re-attach it. As it stands now, you need to buy a new hose kit, and they are not particularly cheap. In the UK they cost the same as a Goodridge set up.
