If you are looking for a cheap hydro you really can't beat the deore IMO. I have ridden them many times and they are very impressive. Especially when you conisder the cost.

I have deore hydros on my 03 Slayer. They perform flawlessly. I haven't had to do anything except change the pads. Replacement pads are cheaper than most others. They are also very simple to set up. The levers aren't as bulky as the Hayes.
