New question here. Is M486 SLX Caliper compatible with RT75 XT disc?

I have used a shimano 180mm Post to IS adapter & installed an RT75 180mm XT disc to my bike. As stated the fork is fitted with a SLX M486 caliper. The brake pads appear to also be wearing on the inner section of the disc or the "fingers" that extend out from the hub. I dont think this is normal though am unsure of the solution as i have used all shimano parts. I am wondering if the SLX caliper is not actually compatible with the disc? By that i mean are the pads to large for these discs? Is it simply a solution of using different pads in these calipers?
    appreciate any guidance...
    cheers

First off, the M486 is not an SLX caliper, the SLX caliper is the M665 model.

Secondly, that rotor is not recommended for that caliper. You need the RT51 rotor.
Check out the pdf document in this Shimano link

i purchased the rt75 based simply on the picture at crc thinking it was the same as my rt51 ... i found this post ... decide for yourself ... personally, i'm going to give it a crack ... maybe i should have purchased flasher looking rt76 rotors ...

edit: not going to give it a crack after all ... see this mtbr post ... see this crc post ... "No this disc will not work with Deore disc brake systems as the braking surface of the XT disc is significantly shallower than that of the Deore disc" [source: crc].

found this on a Japanese site
also found an unknown adaptor Instead of the model # SM-MA-F203s/p
it is SM-RT75-DH 203 same except the mounting flange is slightly thinner so no pad overlap

    sm-rt51 (160mm) / sm-rt75 (160mm)

sm-rt51 braking surface is very [very] roughly 17mm wide ..
sm-rt75 braking surface is very [very] roughly 13mm wide ...
