Lost bolt that holds disc brake pads!

The bolt that hold the pads (04 XTR discs) in place came out during a ride and before I knew it the pads popped out too, never did find the pads (every fir cone on the trail looks just like a disc pads). The carter pin (correct name?) that holds the bolt is a shitty design, is there a c-chip that would fit, loc-tight, safety wire? Recommandations?

Do the metal XTR pads squeal more than the resin pads during extented downhill braking? Is the resin/metal pad combo a good set-up for dry summer riding?

    Those pins suck

...same thing happened to me. try using a small zip tie at the end of the in once it's fully threaded into the caliper. make sure the zip tie is VERY tight (use a fourth hand tool). it worked for me.

    Thanks, great idea!

Are you using the metal/resin brake pad combo?
