    Looking to upgrade need help finding some

    hey i have a giant revel1 with hayes mx4's and i need new pads but i think instead i will upgrade to something better i looked at a couple of different kinds but im not sure what would be best for me as a trail rider

    any help would be appreciated

    and would they be able to work with the new shimano gear shifter

    At the moment I would recommend Shimano SLX brakes. Either the last model (M666?) or the latest. Pretty much the same as the XT, but without the BPC (supposedly - there is a thread floating around here on how to get around that).

    Are your brake levers and shifters integrated like these ones ?

    If they are not separate components and you don't want too buy new shifters or brake levers then the only real upgrade would be to buy Avid BB7 calipers.

    I could be wrong but I have a feeling that the OP has a integrated set-up and doesn't want to buy new shifters.
