I thought the norm in the UK is to have front brake on the right lever. Just like on motorcycles - not just Harleys but all of them.

The rationale for having the rear brake for the right hand stems from the thought that you should have your primary brake available when signalling to turn left, assuming RH traffic. I agree with the thought, but I consider my front brake to be the primary one.

So my RH lever affects the front brake. In my area I'm the odd guy (I only know one other cyclist who does this) and everyone says my setup is "British style". People tell me it could cause me to go over the bars, because I'm right-handed and my right hand is stronger. Well it is, but it's also the hand I use to write and specifically the index finger to control the shutter button of cameras and triggers of firearms. Should be accurate enough for a front brake lever.

I just got my new XT brakes that I ordered from Wiggle and they came LH rear RH front. You're going to have to cut the lines anyways so just swap them to your desired hands. Its a PIA but its not that hard.

Did you order the Front (left) and Rear? or Front and Rear? I ordered the Front (left) and Rear combo last week and still waiting for them to arrive.

I'm pretty sure I ordered just front and rear, not the left option.

i was wondering that too when i ordered mine last week. i opted for regular front and rear in hopes of avoiding getting 2 of the same lever with the front(left) and rear combo.
