Kool Stop MTB black or Tectronic?

Went to both LBS who didn't have Kool-stop and a couple out of town ones. I found Kool Stop MTB pads in black only, not dual compound as well as the Tectronic.

Which would be better for agressive singletrack on a Zaskar LE with Avid Single Digit 7s in the front? If it matters its got a Manitou X-Vert TPC+ fork. Not sure if the size and mud scraper on the black is better or the three compound and different treads is better. The rims for now are Mavic 230's might upgrade next year. The back has Deore XT center pull but I don't think the back matters so much so I'll probably just get refills for that. I know they both got really good reviews but the MTB pad reviews were for dual compound.

I'm sure they are better for different reasons, but overall which would be reccomended? I'm going to try and get into racing after some practice this summer. Already tried one race but didn't do so well. I guess road bike endurance doesn't translate to hardtail off road Plus I didn't do anything all winter (Michigan winter, not sure if it's over yet.)

In my opinion (and most people here) the best v-brake pads are the Kool Stop Salmon.

if it's dry, black works fine, but I too prefer salmon or multi-cmpd.

Thanks for the suggestions, since my front brakes were pretty much gone I picked up the MTB Kool Stops when I found them and then at the next bike store I went to (looking for padded full finger gloves,) I got the Tectronics since they were triple compound. Both shops are 45 minutes away so would it be worth it to keep both and run one in the front and one in the rear for XC and singletrack? Which one in the front? It's got 95 Deore XT in the back with XT pads that are still good. I could always pass them along to someone else local if it won't make a difference on the back. Rims are Mavic 230s
